Tolu Agbelusi’s background as a lawyer and personal experience as an immigrant gave her insight to explore immigration in the modern-day UK as the theme for her playwriting debut. Le Mar has had a fruitful career, being the first black British performer at the Apollo Theatre and the first ever black female comedian to sell out at show in London’s West End.
